STRENGTHENED SERVICE SUCCESS FOR SEANIC OCEAN SYSTEMS
Earlier this year, US-based Seanic Ocean Systems merged with its sister operation in the UK (Underwater Engineering Services) following the consolidation of their parent companies Centurion Group and ATR Group.
The amalgamation of both firm’s strengths is already providing essential support to clients on both sides of the Atlantic, with an increased capability to deliver all aspects of ROV and diver tooling, testing, storage, and engineering across the globe.
The business, which is now operating under one name, Seanic Ocean Systems, has built up its reputation in two very different regions - the Gulf of Mexico, which has some of the deepest waters in the world, and the North Sea which has much shallower waters but an all-around harsher environment. By combining both sets of skills and expertise, the company has been in its strongest position ever to offer its products and services globally.
President of Seanic Ocean Systems, Tom Ayars, said: “Both companies overlay each other extremely well. Our customers in the subsea sector now have access to the best ROV and diving products on the market, as well as highly capable personnel who have real world deepwater expertise. We basically all speak the same language, so by joining forces, it has allowed us to better share our assets and skills across regions more effectively and efficiently.
“Seanic actually designs and manufactures our subsea equipment which has vastly extended our offering and strengthened our position to be able to deliver a wide range of intervention tooling to our existing clients and also to the broader international marketplace. If we don’t have something that perfectly fits a client’s needs, our engineering team can build a cost effective custom product as we’ve done for others over the past 10 years.”
Key benefits to clients:
- increased engineering capabilities
- expanded geographic locations
- a larger selection of ROV and diver tooling
- access to the firm’s advanced testing facility which is believed to be the largest of its kind on the Gulf Coast
Seanic has several distributor partnerships including one in St Johns, NL, Canada, Stavanger Norway and Port of Spain Trinidad and Tobago. Mr Ayars concluded: “When you factor in our distributor partners along with our Seanic bases in Houston and in Aberdeen, it has placed us in a very favourable position to effectively service our clients.”
