Centurion’s Water & Wastewater Solutions business line in Australia recently supported Karratha City Council in upgrading the airport’s wastewater treatment plant – helping the region recycle water for use in gardens, toilets, and other non-drinking purposes. Located in the dry and remote Pilbara region of Western Australia, the project plays a key role in reducing pressure on freshwater supplies while improving the site’s long-term sustainability. As part of the project, Centurion delivered a comprehensive handover, providing an on-site walkthrough, operator training, and a detailed handover pack to support day-to-day operations. Ongoing access to technical support, maintenance, and spare parts was also established to ensure the system continues to perform reliably over time. Following the handover, Karratha City Council shared: “Both the Field Service Manager and Service Engineer demonstrated exceptional technical expertise and delivered thorough, hands-on training that empowered our onsite operators to confidently manage the system from day one. The comprehensive handover pack has proven to be an invaluable resource. The team's clear and consistent communication throughout the process has instilled strong confidence in the quality of ongoing support we can expect moving forward.”

Solar panels array in a desert with a clear blue sky and a long fence in the background installed by Centurion Middle East and North Africa
September 25, 2025
Specialist Services , part of Centurion’s Middle East & North Africa region, has achieved a significant sustainability milestone with the successful activation of a new solar farm at the main accommodation site of a UAE-based gas field development. Delivered as part of a wider full-scope camp management contract, the solar system is designed to operate as the camp’s primary power source – and is already reducing reliance on diesel generation. Integrated with a smart generator setup ranging from 200KVA to 1000KVA, the hybrid system adjusts to power demand, with early data showing a marked drop in generator emissions even during peak load conditions. With cooling demands expected to ease as seasonal temperatures drop, the solar farm is forecasted to contribute even more significantly to the camp’s total energy needs. This forward-looking installation reinforces Specialist Services’ capabilities in delivering innovative, sustainable infrastructure for complex, remote environments – and highlights Centurion’s continued investment in low-carbon, high-performance solutions.

From this expanded fleet of modules, nine have been assigned to a cable laying vessel for 10+ months for the construction of a major offshore windfarm in Southeast Asia, increasing personnel capacity to accommodate an additional 36 workers. Manufactured at Specialist Services' state-of-the-art facility in Dubai and delivered within 12 weeks, these modules were engineered to the highest of industry standards using H2M’s innovative design. These high-specification modules are space-saving, versatile, certified across multiple regulations, and designed to reduce mobilization costs and footprint onsite. Combining H2M’s modular accommodation expertise with Specialist Services' advanced engineering and manufacturing capabilities, these new modules will significantly bolster H2M’s fleet of cutting-edge accommodation units and play a key part in increasing Centurion’s ability to support the unique requirements of global renewable energy projects.
