Scope of Work

A client operating on an accommodation vessel in the North Sea required a short-term rental solution consisting of a bespoke Permit Office and a Tea Shack. The solution needed to be modular, ATEX and DNV certified, A60 fire rated, and ready for deployment within a tight two-week timeline. 

Execution

Specialist Services, part of Centurion's Middle East & North Africa region, in collaboration with Centurion Accommodation & Modular (UK), supplied four 20ft A60 office modules. These were reconfigured and joined to create two double-wide modular units serving as a customized Permit Office and Tea Shack. 

The transformation maintained all existing certifications (ATEX, DNV, A60, CSC) while incorporating multi-room layouts and hazardous area pressurization. Despite the complexity of the modifications and stringent certification requirements, the engineering, project management, and production teams across Specialist Services and Centurion Accommodation & Modular ensured seamless coordination to meet the two-week lead time. 

Outcome & Value Delivered

The bespoke Permit Office and Tea Shack modules were successfully delivered and installed on schedule in August 2014, supporting the client’s North Sea operations over a six-month rental period. 

This project marked the first collaboration with this client and demonstrated Specialist Services’ agility, technical expertise, and ability to deliver certified modular solutions under tight timelines for offshore environments. The successful execution strengthened the relationship and highlighted the effectiveness of cross-regional coordination within Centurion’s network.
