The upgrade restored reliability, improved water quality compliance, and ensured safe, efficient drinking water for the local community.

Scope of Work

Our client engaged the team to address urgent reliability issues at the Denham water treatment plant, which provides drinking water for the local community in Western Australia.

The Denham water treatment plant was experiencing significant issues due to ageing infrastructure:

  • The sand filters were damaged beyond repair and needed urgent replacement
  • One of the site’s Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems was old and in poor condition, requiring replacement to restore treatment performance.

The client required a modernized solution that would restore reliability and ensure ongoing compliance with water quality standards.

Execution

Centurion delivered a full replacement Reverse Osmosis and Filtration Plant, consisting of:

  • Two new GRP multi-media filter vessels
  • Upgrades to an existing RO Skid (A)
  • Complete replacement of RO Skid (B) with a new unit, designed, manufactured, and installed by our subcontractor
  • A new standard single duty gas chlorination train for reliable chlorine dosing.

Additional enhancements included:

  • New ejectors and vacuum transmitters for the existing chlorination system
  • Automatic flow-paced control for precise chlorine dosing
  • Standby pumps with motorized valving for improved reliability
  • VSD control and pressure monitoring on the upgraded RO Skid A for flexible and efficient operation.
