Blast-Resistant Modules Delivered by Centurion to Hydrogen Site in the Netherlands
Scope of Work
A global provider of industrial gases and related technologies required blast-resistant accommodation units to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment at their expanding hydrogen facility in the Netherlands. The site will become the largest of its kind in Europe upon completion in 2026.
Execution
Centurion's Nertherlands-based Accommodation & Modular business line delivered eight 20ft blast-resistant modules to the customer’s site in Rotterdam in late 2023. These units were specially engineered to protect against potential explosions and hydrocarbon fires, aligning with the rigorous safety standards of hydrogen production facilities.
Despite the impact of Storm Ciarán the weekend before, the modules were mobilized safely and on time. Additional units are scheduled for delivery in the coming months to support continued development at the site.
Outcome
Blast-resistant accommodation modules supported critical safety infrastructure at one of Europe’s largest hydrogen facility developments.
The timely delivery of high-specification blast-resistant modules enhanced the customer’s safety infrastructure during a critical construction phase of the hydrogen facility. The deployment supports long-term energy transition goals and demonstrates Centurion’s ability to meet the needs of a wide variety of critical projects across Europe.
