Upcycled Equipment Powers Alberta Wellsite with Cleaner Fuel and Reduced Environmental Impact
Scope of Work
A major oil and gas customer required a natural gas-powered generator to support accommodation units at one of their Alberta-based wellsites. The solution needed to align with the customer’s operational standards while minimizing environmental impact in a remote location.
Execution
As a preferred vendor supporting more than 13 product lines across the customer’s operations, Centurion identified an opportunity to meet this need through upcycling and refurbishment. Our Power & Equipment business line and Water & Wastewater Solutions business lines worked together repurposed an underutilized wastewater treatment unit previously marked for disposal. The teams refurbished the unit and converted it into a fully operational power skid generator equipped with a natural gas engine. The power distribution for the accommodation site was also redesigned and delivered efficiently to enable proximity to the fuel source and optimize power delivery.
Outcome & Value Delivered
Centurion's upcycled natural gas-powered generator provided efficient onsite power while supporting lower-emission operations.
Centurion’s upcycling approach allowed the customer to meet on-site power needs using cleaner-burning fuel while supporting overall sustainability goals. By refurbishing an existing asset, Centurion reduced waste, cut emissions, and delivered a tailored, cost-effective solution. This project demonstrates Centurion’s ability to apply innovative thinking and deliver operational efficiency in environmentally responsible ways.
